Introducing Halloween to Young Minds: 10 Must-Read Books for Toddlers and Preschoolers

Books are a great tool to introduce young children to traditions and holidays. It will expose and make them familiar with everything that happens on a special day, such as halloween. So long before I took my daughter trick-or-treating for the first time, when she was almost three years old, we started reading books about halloween. She loved reading about witches, silly pumpkins and spooky ghosts and when she was finally ready to go trick-or-treating herself, she was so excited, she understood what was happening and was not afraid at all.

We store our halloween books with our halloween decor and pull them out each year as halloween approaches. Storing them away through the year and only setting them out on the bookshelf during halloween season keeps them interesting and exciting year after year.

Below you will find a list of halloween themed books for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Click on the pictures to find each book on Amazon (affiliate links). Also check out these fall-themed books for toddlers for more seasonal reads.
